This photograph was taken in late October when the New England foliage was at its peak color. But winter was not far away … which we were reminded of by the first early snowfall of the year. A slow camera shutter speed was used to emphasize the streaking snow caused by the winter wind. The white ‘web’ effect at the bottom of the photo is the result of the snow settling on the vines in the woods.

Photo is printed on Canson Edition Etching Rag. It is a beautiful paper with a light texture.  It makes the print look more like a painting than a photograph.

Canson® was founded in 1557 by the Montgolfier family. Its development and destiny are intertwined with the history of France and the history of Art.
