The Navajo people consider Antelope Canyon to be a very sacred site with deep religious significance. In 2014, I visited these beautiful sandstone slot canyons and took hundreds of photos. It was a near mystical experience. But it was not until recently that I had a closer look at all the photos -- and to my disbelief - an angel appeared. The "negative" (individual pixels) was not altered in any way. Visit https://www.timwilliamowen.com/angel for more details.
I took this photograph when the New England foliage was at its peak. But winter was not far away … which we were reminded of by the first snowfall of the year. I used a slow shutter speed to emphasize the streaking snow caused by the winter wind. The white ‘web’ effect at the bottom of the photo is the result of the snow settling on the vines in the woods. Solitude means different things to different people. Solitude does mean the "state of being alone", but it does not necessarily mean being lonely. Some people enjoy the 'freedom' of solitude. If you look closely, you can see other trees in the background through the mist. So is this tree happy or sad that it is alone from others?
We are so small compared to the glory of the world we dwell in. I have a deep respect for nature and earth, and feel reverence whenever I capture a landscape like this. Btw, if you look closely, you will see a 'small' person in the lower left side of the photo. That's what made me think we are so small compared to the world around us.
Cathedral Rock is a famous landmark in Sedona. Sedona has been long known as a spiritual place due to it vortexes that are believed to inspire oneness and serenity. Most photos are taken at sunset as it highlights the red rock. I took this photo at daybreak, just as the sun rose behind Cathedral Rock and illuminated the spires ... a new dawn and a new day.
